Where AI chatbots stop

Today’s AI answers almost anything generically. Just not what your project files say.

The answer is rarely in one document. It sits between them: in the revision that came after submission, in the mail that approved change of use, in the permit condition nobody ticked off. chatbot sees none of it. Without the facts, it guesses. Fluently.

Does the current revision still match what we submitted?

Deviations are common. Compare the revision indices and document any changes…

  • Cannot see your folders
  • Does not know which revision is current
  • No source you could check

What is missing is not a better prompt. What is missing is a layer between your project and the rules that apply to it.

What Folaint does

Folaint is the layer between your project and the rules that apply to it.

On one side, the project folder you already keep: drawings, models, minutes, the approval notice. On the other, the regulations that apply to it. Folaint reads both sides and brings them together where the question actually arises: at the single component.

How it fits

Nothing you run gets replaced.

No new CAD, no new ERP, no data migration. Folaint reads the folders you already keep and stops your AI from guessing which paragraph applies to this component in this room.

Nothing is migrated and nothing is re-entered. Folaint reads the files where they already are, and hangs what it finds on the component they describe, not on the page it stood on.
What it checks

Five checks, all on the same component.

Not a plan generator and not a clash detector: geometry has been covered by established BIM tools for years. This is the part no tool covers, because it needs the regulations and your project at the same time.

A rectangle on layer 12 becomes a wall.

Unattributed 2D geometry becomes a component with properties: a wall with a fire rating, a pipe with a nominal width, an area with a usage type.

The anchor in building services is the riser: it appears in the calculation, the schematic and the drawing at once, always under the same name.

All five run on the same component. That is why a finding here is not just a sentence, it carries an address in the project: this component, this room, this source.

Every step in detail: how we work
The case

Three rules, one window, three different answers.

Both rules say "one tenth". The building code means the structural opening, the workplace rule means the glazing. Same wording, two answers, and today an engineer settles it room by room.

1.51 m1.22 mLBO-BW § 341,84 m²1.51 m1.52 mASR A3.42,30 m²0.90 m1.20 m§ 13 LBOAVOmetRoom B · 18.4 m² floor area
2.30 m² appears in none of the three documents. It exists only once you convert them to the same reference. That conversion is the work.

Every finding hangs on a component, not on a page: with its source down to the page number, and with where it comes from. Set by the regulation, derived by a rule, or proposed by the model. The last of those never counts as fact until someone has checked it.

What comes back

Every finding hangs on a component, and says where it comes from.

Not a chat answer you have to believe. Three kinds of finding, and the third one is the reason this can be used at all: what the model merely suspects is marked as exactly that.

  • set by the regulationWall W-14 · room 2.14

    Fire resistance class F90 required.

    Fire safety concept
  • derived by a ruleWindow F-14 · room 2.14

At least 2.30 m² structural opening; the workplace rule governs over the building code.

    ASR A3.4 + LBO-BW § 34
  • proposed by the modelPipe L-22 · shaft 3

Sealing probably required; the escape route is not dimensioned on the drawing.

    MLAR, reference unclearcheck before use
The third card is the one that matters. A system that cannot say where its own limit is will be checked in full by an engineer, and then it has saved nobody anything.
