2. Types of Data Processed

• Contact data (name, email address, message from contact form submissions)
• Usage data (IP address, browser type, referrer, access time, logged server-side in shortened/anonymized form)
• Locally stored preferences (in your browser’s local storage: your cookie consent choice under the key folaint-cookie-consent, plus your theme and language preference). All of these are technically necessary or requested by you; none are used for tracking.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis

• Contact form: Processing your inquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).
• Server log files: Technical operation and security. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
• Local preference storage: Remembering your consent choice, theme and language so you are not asked again. Technically necessary / requested by you (§ 25 (2) TDDDG). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The provider processes usage data (see section 2) on our behalf. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider.

5. Contact Form Email Delivery (Resend)

To deliver contact form submissions to us by email, we use the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA) as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. When you submit the contact form, the data you enter (name, email address, message) is transmitted to Resend for the sole purpose of delivering your message to us by email.

Resend is based in the USA; the transfer to this third country is safeguarded by the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2)(c) GDPR), concluded as part of our data processing agreement with Resend. Legal basis for the processing: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (handling your inquiry) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in reliable email delivery).

6. Retention Period

• Contact inquiries: Until the inquiry is fully resolved, then deleted, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
• Server log files: IP addresses are only stored in shortened (anonymized) form; log files are deleted after 7 days at the latest.
• Local preference storage: Until you clear your browser storage or revoke your consent (via “Cookie settings” in the footer).

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

8. No Tracking Tools / Third-Party Recipients

This website uses no analytics services, no social media tracking, and no advertising technologies. No personal data is shared with third parties beyond the processors named in sections 4 (hosting) and 5 (email delivery).

9. Fonts

This website uses the typefaces Newsreader, Hanken Grotesk and IBM Plex Mono. These fonts are self-hosted: the font files are served directly from our own hosting infrastructure (see section 4) together with the rest of the site. No connection to Google Fonts or any other third-party font provider is established, and no data (such as your IP address) is transmitted to third parties in order to display the site’s typography.
